Humans are malevolent splashes of colour against buildings,
We have done that to each other.
Emigrated into danger whilst clinging to the idea of safety,
Bold to carve and hack to the explosive horizon,
Or to back gingerly into the hills
Lovelingly detangling ourselves from the plastic wrapping
We were placed clean from the gungey mess of the womb.
Put into shop windows
We imitate the rocks
The hills the earth
The wind the ocean
We choose which ones we resemble,
We become lizards or tangy pungent fruit,
Sprouting blooms from our lips,
Fading into brick walls that safely contain or guide us through,
Rub nose face to granite and grassy earth.
We have been levitated and lifted off earth
On human manmade materials and objects.
We all wanted to become Gods, Queens & Kings
And now we have achieved it.
Those who lay low or humble to the ground are madmen and lunatics.
They will be entered into earth under the dark of light.
They won't be lit by our tungsten lamps,
But extinguished to dark earthy beginnings.
We are blobs, colourful, moving, tiny blobs
We make so many varieties of frequencies
The earth bows respectfully to our details and it loves us
Though we are brushstrokes upon it.
Gods, Queens and Kings all -
The earth will gently lift us into its mouth
With loving caresses and eat us whole.
We slide unknowingly down into the hot eye of a star.
